An expression of a treaty work as laid before Parliament. Different treaty expressions may be laid before Parliament over time. Treaty works requiring ratification are subject to the Constitutional Reform and Governance Act 2010. The 2010 Act sets out that a treaty must be laid before Parliament prior to ratification. After the treaty has been laid, it is subject to the negative procedure described in part within the 2010 Act. After a treaty has been ratified, a copy of the treaty is laid before Parliament. Treaty works which do not require ratification may have a treaty expression laid before Parliament.
